The Hawth‘s winter season has been unveiled and presents a selection of live entertainment, film, exhibitions and plenty of reasons to "come in from the cold and keep warm in the new-look theatre".

The foyer has been given a makeover—there’s more space to move around and chat, a more open and welcoming box office and a new-look, versatile cafe area.

Music is a huge part of the season with blues, folk and jazz nights as well as the Armonico Consort performing Too Hot to Handel, a Handel opera performed as never before.

There is comedy from Paul Foot and Pam Ayres returns. The Burlesque Show offers a night of sophisticated tease, comedy, magic and music, while Britain’s Got Talent finalist The Circus of Horrors performs daredevil circus acts from across the globe.

Drama includes Brecht’s Mother Courage, Mr Micawber following the Dickens character as he starts a new life in Australia and Stephen King’s novel Misery adapted for the stage in the Studio.

The pantomime Aladdin returns, with a cast including Les Dennis and Noel Sullivan, and there will be a performance of Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen in the studio.
