Magical: The Lost Gift will be one of two Christmas productions at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry

A new, interactive winter adventure for children will be one of the attractions at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry at Christmas 2015.

The Lost Gift invites families to “step into a magical story that they walk through and help create. A host of charming characters will guide visitors on a beautifully designed journey deep underground, up into the sky and away to a land of snow on a quest to solve the mystery of The Lost Gift”.

It will be created within the walls of the venue’s Mead Gallery. The story and performance have been devised by Highly Sprung, a Coventry-based physical theatre company who make original work for children and young people that combines text and movement.

Vortex Creates, another Coventry company, known for large-scale costumes and event design, will take on the challenge of transforming the art gallery into a wintry world.

Matt Burman, head of programme and audience at Warwick Arts Centre, says, “we’re looking forward to welcoming people of all ages, both old and new friends of the Arts Centre, to experience, together with family and friends this special event. This promises to be unlike anything you’ve seen or heard at the Arts Centre before.”

The Lost Gift will run from Saturday 12 December until Thursday 31 December at ten-minute intervals from 10AM until 6:40PM every day except Christmas Day. It is suitable for children aged four and over.

The other Christmas 2015 attraction at Warwick Arts Centre will be The Gruffalo’s Child which starts on Thursday 26 November and plays until Sunday 3 January 2016.
