Birmingham REP is offering a two-day artist development opportunity for emerging and established D/deaf and disabled directors and theatre-makers.
Theatres and companies from across the Midlands will deliver practical workshops and question-and-answer sessions. Those taking part include the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Derby Theatre, Stan's Cafe, Women and Theatre and the REP.
The objective is to provide participants with an insight into different methods and processes used by directors while allowing them to explore and discover new ways of approaching their work. The workshops will also offer information, guidance and advice on how to steer a directing career in the right direction.
Birmingham REP is “committed to diversifying the talent in the building as well as providing opportunities for D/deaf and disabled artists”.
The workshops will run on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 May at the REP. Potential applicants should e-mail [email protected].
