Complicite Associates are to stage the world première of a new musical, A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer, with book by Bryony Kimmings and Brian Lobel, music by Tom Parkinson and lyrics by Bryony Kimmings.

Presented as a co-production with the National Theatre and in association with HOME Manchester, the production opens at HOME from September 20-24, with its run at the National from October 14.

It’s described as a whistlestop tour through life with a cancer diagnosis.

Meanwhile, HOME has announced its new season spanning April to September 2016.

Highlights include a brand-new ANU and HOME production, On Corporation Street, combining theatre, visual art and film in the second of a triptych of shows by ANU (with the other plays being performed in Dublin), marking the centenary of Ireland’s Easter Rising and the 20th anniversary of the bombing of Manchester by the Provisional IRA—following the award-winning and critically acclaimed Angel Meadow in 2014.

Also, a new HOME, Young Vic and Theatre de Ville production of The Emperor, with the creative team behind the acclaimed Kafka’s Monkey including Kathryn Hunter, and directed by HOME Artistic Director: Theatre, Walter Meierjohann.
