15- to 25-year-olds in Northamptonshire with a passion for performance can audition for the new Corby Young Actors and Corby Young Dancers companies at The Core at Corby Cube on Monday 8 July.
The new term for both companies begins in September. No experience is necessary and those who are selected will have the chance to develop their skills with leading professionals on a six-month training programme.
Young actors can concentrate on movement, voice, character creation, and devising and working with scripts before creating an original production with The Core’s creative director Chris Sudworth, which will be performed in the venue’s theatre next April.
Young dancers will work on developing stamina, strength, choreographic skills and technical ability.
They will collaborate with Martin Lawrance, choreographer with the Richard Alston Dance Company, on a piece which will also be performed next April.
