The Customs House

The Customs House in South Shields is marking 100 years since the start of the Great War with a week of war-themed events, the finale of which is a showcase of young people’s interpretations of the conflict.

The theatre is looking for up to ten talented young people’s groups to show their work on Saturday 2 August at 7:45PM in the Main House for a performance called The World at War.

The art form for the performance may be dance, spoken word, drama/theatre or film and the Customs House is looking for pieces of work which are between three and fifteen minutes long.

Groups can be based anywhere in the region and all groups with young people up to 25 years old can apply. The performances might have been created by the group leader or teacher, or might be made by the young people themselves, and it is hoped to have a range of styles and art forms represented on the stage.

Any group interested or who would like more information should contact Leah Strug, Press and Publicity Officer at The Customs House, on 0191 427 8180 or e-mail her at [email protected].
