Annie at the New Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham

Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre is looking for singers, dancers and actors aged 9 to 24 for a production of Annie.

The theatre is running an intensive, two-week programme called Stage Experience which gives young people the opportunity to train and perform in a professional theatre setting under the guidance of its director, musical director and choreographer or behind the scenes with the technical team.

Ten days of rehearsal and training will culminate in five performances of Annie which will be backed by the theatre’s full orchestra.

Andrew Lister, the New Alexandra’s general manager, said, ”It never ceases to amaze me the sheer amount of hard work and dedication that our talented young casts throw into two weeks of rehearsal and training over their summer holiday.

“The standard of the resulting production is always truly amazing and ultimately proves to be the most rewarding of experiences for all those taking part.”

All applicants will be invited to audition on Sunday 5 May at the theatre where the show will run from 21 until 24 August.
