Around 120 young dancers are to take part in Created, a performance presented by Dancefest, the dance development organisation for Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Created is for young people who have taken part in the Creates programme, a project which provides emerging young choreographers with the opportunity to make a new dance piece, with mentoring and support from dance professionals.

Dancefest provides children and young people with information about classes and workshops, performance opportunities and dance progression routes.

Rachael Alexander, co-ordinator of the Creates programme for Dancefest, says, “We have some truly talented young people working on pieces for Created this year.

“Some of these will go on to train professionally and may become dancers and choreographers of the future.

“This is a great opportunity for young dancers to come together, enjoy and appreciate a varied and creative programme of work and also to perform in a theatre.”

Created will be performed at the Swan Theatre, Worcester on Sunday 3 March.
