Summer school at the Belgrade Theatre

Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre is offering youngsters aged between 8 and 16 the chance to develop and share their theatre skills at its annual summer school.

The Belgrade will be running two week-long schools. Each will include a series of workshops and rehearsals in which young people will explore with Belgrade practitioners movement, voice and acting techniques.

Members of each group will work together to devise their own piece of theatre which they will perform in front of family and friends at the end of the week.

Janthi Mills, the Belgrade’s general manager, said, “Summer school gives young people a positive opportunity to make new friends and develop new skills during the summer holiday period.”

The first week will run from Monday 29 July until Friday 2 August while the second will run from Monday 12 until Friday 16 August. Both start at 10AM and end at 4:30PM.

The cost is £120 per child per week if booked online and £130 per child if booked by phone or in person. There will be a different programme of activities each week, so it is possible for children to attend one or both weeks.

For more information or to book contact the Belgrade’s box office on 024 7655 3055 or go online at www.belgrade.co.uk.
