Chance for young talent: A Christmas Carol

Derby Theatre is looking for young people aged between 9 and 16 to be in its main house production for Christmas 2019, Neil Duffield’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.

Oliver O’ Shea, who directs, said, “offering young people from the local area the chance to perform alongside an adult company of professional actors is an exciting opportunity and I’m really looking forward to meeting young people from the region who’ll audition.

“We’re keen to see young people who have enthusiasm, who are great team players and who are committed to the project.”

Group auditions will be held on Saturday 17 August. Young people will take part in a range of drama exercises and games and will be asked to sing in a group.

Rehearsals will start on Monday 28 October. Application forms will be available to download from the Derby Theatre web site from 10AM on Friday 26 July and should be returned by 5PM on Monday 12 August. A Christmas Carol will run from Friday 29 November until Saturday 4 January 2020.
