Dani Heron, Anders Hayward and Conleth Hill master this fast-paced, dark comedy by Kieran Hurley with director Roxanna Silbert barely allowing the audience a chance to keep up as they switch from the “growing gulf between generations”.
The older Hill is the expectant and somewhat willing participant as “john” visiting a “prostitute”; not the “not ready” female (Heron) but the more than ready male (Hayward).
But as much as the generation gap is Hurley’s focus, it also seems to address the gap between the adult world of fantasy / sex play and reality represented by, among other things, a crying baby, and that the “client” is a former teacher.
Heron, Hayward and Hill play well together as well as taking on Hurley’s fast-paced dark comedy well harnessed by Silbert. Lots of funny surprises keep the audience challenged.
