Bonk! is a hilarious sexual romp that explores the science of one of Britain’s not-talked about subject—sex. Most aspects of sexual activity are revealed with a mantra that "sex can be fun." The show was inspired by the book Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Sex and Science by best-selling author Mary Roach.
This is not one for the prudish or indeed the squeamish but it is tremendously enjoyable, performed with obvious relish from this 5-strong cast from Crowtown Theatre Company.
It’s a quickfire journey with a series of vignettes that covers such areas as faking orgasm, talking through your sexual needs with your partner and lesbian and gay love although the performers claim that it is all about romance.
Sexy tales from the bedroom are revealed and apparently long-distance ejaculation can be great fun—perhaps this should have a warning “not to try this at home”—and as far as semen tasting in a restaurant is concerned, well that is certainly not in the best of taste, no pun intended, but it is very funny.
There are some strong performances and the audience loved it.
