Take three buff guys, mix circus skills, brilliant choreography, hand to hand acrobatics and the Cyr wheel and you have an exciting, breathtaking, physically skilled show. Add an exploration of male friendship and its limits in this strange gender-fluid world and you have an incredible piece of theatre.
Barely Methodical Troupe won an Edinburgh Fringe award in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since. Created and performed by Beren D’Amico, Louis Gift and Charlie Wheeller, the show starts with an exploration of the simple handshake and looks at touching, hugging and physical contact within the role of male friendship a well as jealously, belittling and support.
Against a powerful soundtrack, the boys lift and throw each other, tumble, spin and perform within the Cyr wheel with breathtaking accuracy and showmanship.
Showing total confidence in each other’s skills, they wow the audience with some incredible moves while all the time getting their theme across and adding humour into the mix to make this a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining hour.
Well worth a look.
