Flirt Fiction

Red Rabbit Collective
theSpaces on North Bridge

In the first scene, sitting in a hotel dining room waiting for breakfast, two writers, Henry and Ana, challenge each other to write erotica, not the explicit sex of porn nor the coyness of the Mills and Boon romantic novel, but something more subtle and a new departure for each of them. The challenge accepted, they set about writing.

The rest of the play is given to their attempts which are acted out for us by Henry and Ana themselves along with the waitress with whom Ana has had a row as the play began.

The whole piece is shot through with humour, sometimes laugh-out-loud and sometimes producing a gentle smile, but the attempts - and the failures - are ingenious and entertaining. An enjoyable piece of intelligent late-night entertainment.
