Lockerbie: Unfinished Business

David Benson
Seabright Productions
St. John's Church

Having successfully performed Lockerbie: Unfinished Business at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe, David Benson returned the show to Edinburgh for a single one-off performance at St. John's Church. Needless to say, this play is something of a labour of love in many respects, and Benson once again showed himself to be one of the most talented and captivating actors working in British Theatre. His portrayal of Jim Swire is effortlessly believable and utterly compelling, as he leads the audience through the evidence which points to miscarriages of justice, cover-ups, double-dealing and plain incompetences in the legal system.

What was even more affecting was the lengthy discourse held in the venue after the action closed, providing the audience with an unprecedented opportunity to hear from the real Jim Swire, Robert Black QC and other members of Justice for Megrahi, making this moving and essential play all the more important as an event and a viewpoint on our times.
