One cannot help but think of West Side Story and Hair when watching this twist on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Very little of Shakespeare’s words are used but it’s still unmistakably A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
There must be over two dozen performers who fill the stage with hip-hop and rap flawlessly. Angela St. Hill has dazzled us with eye candy costumes. Amy Butterfield and Sam Golle have excelled at choreographing. But the jewel in this crown is Robin Kingsland’s script and direction. This production is not far off of a West End showing. It glitters with potential. It's exciting to watch the committment of these talented performers.
