Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's tales of Tiddler, Monkey Puzzle, The Smartest Giant in Town and Squash and a Squeese are lovingly brought to life by Scamp Theatre.

Within the bowels of the Underbelly’s purple cow, excited toddlers and parents with their babies eagerly awaited the start of this show. They were not disappointed since it’s an imaginative, amiable hour of silly fun and the kids were captivated by it.

The three versatile performers act out these well known stories with poise and a variety of styles that keep the action moving and the attention of the little ones.

Planks of wood are transformed into a farmhouse and various cushions become farmyard animals as the colourful characters come to life.

The story of Tiddler is beautifully presented and the giant is, well, gigantic. There is some impressive puppetry—I loved the monkey made from old rope—and with some jolly songs this is a perfect children’s show.
