Citizens Theatre update

The new season at the Citizens Theatre has been reported on already and now casting has been announced for their production of August Strindberg’s classic Miss Julie in a new version by Zinnie Harris: Dominic Hill is to direct Louise Brealey in the title role.

Brealey will be known for playing the role of Molly in the BBC hit TV show Sherlock but her television credits also include the long-standing character Nurse Roxy Bird in the BBC's Casualty. On stage she has appeared at the Bush Theatre, The Royal Court Theatre, the Young Vic and Bristol Old Vic.

Scottish actor Keith Fleming will take the role of the butler, John. Fleming starred in Dominic Hill’s award-winning Peer Gynt in 2007 and more recently had the title role in Macbeth in a new co-production by Horsecross Arts and Tron Theatre Company. The Citizens Theatre Actor Intern Jessica Hardwick completes the cast.

Miss Julie plays 6–15 February. Audio described, BSL interpreted and captioned performances are programmed as is a post show discussion and Q&A with director Dominic Hill.
