Gok Wan, Faye Tozer, Matt Cardle and Christopher Biggins will appear in Birmingham Hippodrome’s 2025 panto Robin Hood.
Wan, who will play Gok Scarlet, made his panto debut at the Hippodrome in 2013 as The Man in the Mirror in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Tozer, who was a member of the pop group Steps, will play Maid Marion. She is no stranger to panto and took the role of Queen Lucretia in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal in 2022.
Cardle, winner of The X Factor in 2010, will make his panto debut as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He was Pilate in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican Centre in 2019.
Biggins will make a special appearance as King Richard. The cast also features Matt Slack, who will play Robin Hood in his 12th consecutive Hippodrome panto, returning dame Andrew Ryan as Henrietta Hood and Midlands performer Sandra Marvin as The Spirit of Sherwood.
Robin Hood will be staged by Crossroads Pantomimes. Its chief executive Michael Harrison said, “I’m thrilled to be bringing such an exceptional line-up to Birmingham this Christmas. With returning favourites and some exciting new faces, the cast represents the very best in pantomime, comedy and musical theatre.”
Karen Bruce is director and choreographer. Sets will be designed by Mark Walters. Lighting design will be by Rory Beaton and sound design by Matt Peploe. Visual special effects will be by The Twins FX and original songs and orchestrations by Gary Hind.
Robin Hood will run at the Hippodrome from Saturday 20 December until Sunday 1 February 2026.
