Ane City wins 2019 ART Award

The Assembly Roxy Theatre Award, known as the ART Award, supports emerging Scottish based performance companies début work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

This year the Award goes to one-woman show Ane City written and performed by Taylor Dyson and directed by Calum Kelly of company Elfie Picket, which will benefit from the £5,500 worth of support, including Fringe and Joint Venue Brochure registration fees, rehearsal space and development and promotional support.

Dyson said, “I’m delighted to have this opportunity to perform Ane City at Assembly Roxy. Elements of the piece are written and sung in Scots and I am looking forward to seeing how it is received by an international audience at the Edinburgh Fringe.”

Ane City is set in Dundee and tells the story of a young woman who returns home from Glasgow for a night out with her old school pals ‘fae Dundee’.

Tickets for Ane City go on sale on 18 April.
