Antic Disposition returns to the City of London to stage two classics in unique and atmospheric settings.
Firstly this summer, it will stage Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in the 12th century setting of Temple Church, nestled between Fleet Street and the Thames.
Co–directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero (who also designs), the staging is in a circular area, in the oldest part of the Church. The production tours southwest France prior to arriving in London.
In the cast are Russell Anthony, Andrew Bolton, Chris Courtenay, Helen Evans, Pamela Hall, Alex Hooper, Jack Joseph, Dylan Kennedy, Stefan Majczak, James Murfitt, James Pellow and Bryony Tebbutt.
Romeo and Juliet will be performed in Temple Church from 30 August to 7 September.
For Christmas, Scrooge's ghosts are back as Antic Disposition return to Middle Temple Hall with A Christmas Carol.
The company enjoyed a successful run of this musical adaptation of Dicken's novel in this impressive setting two years ago and before that sell-out productions of The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A Christmas Carol has a book and lyrics by Ben Horslen and John Risebero, and music by Christopher Peake. John Risebero and Ben Horslen (who also designs) direct; Christopher Peake provides musical supervision and Carole Carpenter musical direction.
A Christmas Carol will be performed in Middle Temple Hall from 20 to 30 December.
