An adaptation of Jules Verne's novel Around the World in 80 Days has won the Book to Stage Creativity Across Media: Entertainment and Originality Award.

CAMEO Awards, as they are more commonly known, celebrate the role of books in other media and recognise the book adaptor's craft.

A panel of judges made up of entertainment industry professionals selected Eighty Days Productions' adaptation of Around the World in 80 Days over the other short listed nominations, Gangsta Granny (by David Walliams) adapted by Neal Foster and the Birmingham Stage Company and Witness for the Prosecution (by Agatha Christie) adapted by Eleanor Lloyd Productions and Rebecca Stafford Productions.

Other CAMEO award categories are the Book to Game Award which went to Professor Astro Cat’s Solar System (by Dominic Walliman and Ben Newman) adapted by Minilab Studios, the Book to Film Award which went to Lion (from A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley) adapted by See-Saw Films, the Book to TV Award which went to The Miniaturist (by Jessie Burton) adapted by John Brownlow, and new award Book to Audio which was won by Murder on the Orient Express (book by Agatha Christie) adapted by Amazon’s Audible Studios.
