Kiss Me Quickstep is a brand new play from Amanda Whittington, looking at the world of competitive ballroom dancing—both on and off the dance floor—and the real people behind the sequins, fake tans and fixed smiles.

Justin and Jodie have finally made it to Blackpool’s national championships—via the motorway hard shoulder. Luka has come all the way from Russia. Nancy has been training for this since she was three. Lee and Samantha arrive on a wave of success.

Whittington’s previous hits at Oldham Coliseum include Ladies Day (2013), Satin ’n’ Steel (2011) and Be My Baby (2004). She also writes for BBC Radio 4, with radio dramas including Woman’s Hour series’ Once Upon A Time and Paradise Place (Weird Tales) and The Nine Days Queen (Afternoon Drama).

Kiss Me Quickstep runs from April 13-30.
