Best Of Friends opens this week at London's Landor Theatre directed by the venue's artistic director Robert McWhir.
This is the London première of a show previously titled The Golden Voice which was due to be staged at the Arts Theatre starring Darren Day, but the production was cancelled with the show’s producer, Rob Hewitt, eventually arrested on suspicion of fraud.
Best Of Friends has book, music and lyrics by Nick Fogarty who for three decades has worked in the music industry as a singer/song writer and latterly as an MD and vocal coach amassing over 60 record releases as a writer and artist. Seven Senses, his second stage musical, is expected to be staged later this year.
The story of Best Of Friends concerns mates Mike and Jim who used to be like brothers to each other but became separated after Mike found success through a talent show. After 20 years of not speaking, Mike returns to make amends, but Jim is now entangled in the London underworld.
The show has reduced cast of seven with Nick Fogarty playing Jim Ryan and Aidan O’Neill playing Mike Chariot; also in the cast are Alex James Evans, Rosie Glossop, Sarah Goggin, Serena Giacomini and Dean Kilford.
Best Of Friends will run at the Landor Theatre from 23 April.
