The Lowry's autumn season in Salford includes the highly-anticipated north west première of War Horse; a UK première, all three at once, from Michael Clark Company; Matthew Bourne’s legendary Swan Lake; hit comedy Alan Bennett’s People; and Opera North’s Peter Grimes, as part of Britten 100.

Autumn is a season of blockbusters and big names at the venue.

Two of the most enduring productions in musical theatre Blood Brothers (September 2-7) which has recently completed its 24th year in the West End and Fiddler on the Roof (October 29 –November 2) are joined by the legendary 007 Sir Roger Moore (November 3), best-selling author Howard Marks (October 29) and internationally renowned ballet dancer Carols Acosta (October 19) who each give an intimate glimpse into their lives and careers.

Christmas brings The Night Before Christmas (December 18-28) while a legendary outlaw takes up residence in the Quays Theatre for The Library Theatre Company’s Christmas production Wanted! Robin Hood (November 29 –January 11).

A Clockwork Orange (October 21-26), by Manchester’s Anthony Burgess, is brought to life by Action to the Word’s physical theatre horror show.
