Big Society the Musical is a surreal and gritty musical that takes the action of austerity protest marches and the spectacle of a west end musical and combines them in the provision of a story told by both professional actors and hundreds of people from the local community.
The film is the work of Liverpool-based film-making company First Take whose creative team will be at this week’s exclusive screening for a Q&A.
Big Society the Musical forms part of the From Page to Stage Festival at Clapham’s Landor Theatre. It is directed by Lynne Harwood with music written by Andy Frizell. The score includes fourteen original songs. The screenplay is written by Jan Brown, Ann Monks, Paula Simms, Lynne Harwood, Jennifer Monks, Cath Bore and Charlie Kelly.
The screening will take place on 13 February; the Q&A follows. For further information and booking visit the Festival web site.
