Birdsong

Following 2010’s West End hit, a new adaptation of Sebastian Faulks’s Birdsong marks the first touring production of the play.

A cast of 12 shape his wartime epic into a story of love and sacrifice, set against the backdrop of the Western Front.

The production arrives at Oldham Coliseum from July 1-6.

In pre-war France, young Englishman Stephen Wraysford embarks on a passionate and dangerous affair with his host’s wife, Isabelle Azaire. Faced with unprecedented horror, the war-hardened Stephen clings to the shrinking memory as his world explodes around him.

It’s advised for ages 12+.
