TV and stage actors Mina Anwar and Les Dennis will bring Bill Naughton's 1960s classic Spring and Port Wine to Bolton Octagon next year.

They star as Daisy and Rafe Crompton in Naughton’s touching and light-hearted family drama as the Crompton family cope with the ups and downs of life in 1960s working-class Bolton. The production will be directed by Lotte Wakeham and was last performed here in 2008.

Mina Anwar returns to the Octagon following her performance in the theatre’s 2020 production of Shirley Valentine.

Les Dennis became a household name during his 15 years as host of TV gameshow Family Fortunes. He is currently playing Grandad Trotter in the West End production of Only Fools and Horses. Other theatre credits include the Royal Shakespeare Company and English National Opera plus Wilbur Turnblad in the UK tour and West End production of Hairspray The Musical and Uncle Fester in The Addams Family.
