Members of all-male dance group Barbican Boys Dance are to master lifting and throwing, the power of flight moves and technique, stamina and confidence under the guidance of professional dancers Becky Miles and Leroy Ward.

Dance Director Jules Laville said, “in spring 2016, the boys will be faced with an incredible opportunity. They have been invited to work with 2-Faced Dance to choreograph a curtain raiser which they will then perform to open 2-Faced’s double-bill Dreaming in Code, brought by Barbican Theatre to The House at Plymouth University on Friday 4 March 2016.”

After performing alongside 2-Faced Dance, the boys will start gearing up for the All Boys Dance Platform, when they will perform at Barbican Theatre alongside other emerging all-male dance companies from across the south west.

Will, who recently joined Boys Dance having never danced before, said, “I’m quite new and I like it here, I’m always excited to come. It’s great fitness and I always have a laugh”.

For anyone interested in joinining the group, there is a taster session from 7:30PM to 9PM on Monday 11 January 2016. To book a place on the taster, call 01752 267131 or e-mail [email protected].
