Bush Bookworms - reading returns to the Bush Theatre Library

Five- to fourteen-year-olds are at the heart of The Bush Theatre's new initiative, Bush Bookworms, a series of readings and storytelling by children’s authors.

Participants include theatre critic, journalist and author of the Stage School Series Lyn Gardner, Zizou Corder whose trilogy Lionboy has been adapted by theatre company Complicite and is currently on tour and Sue Ransom, author of supernatural romance novels for young adults.

Bush Theatre artistic director Madani Younis says, “We know many people in our community have strong childhood memories of visiting our theatre when it was the old Shepherd’s Bush library.

"As we continue to explore the potential of our new home and programme a wider range of spaces within the building, this new series of authors' events for children allows us to continue to welcome young people and their families to this much-loved building within our local community.

"We are delighted to continue its storytelling tradition and to add Bush Bookworms to our regular programme.”

Children under 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times; grown–ups bringing older children must remain on site but may use the Café Bar area. There will be a bookshop and book signing at each event.
