Over the Wire – part of Tron Theatre's Mayfesto programme

Glasgow's Tron Theatre has announced its summer season.

In a co-production the Company will present a rock 'n' roll musical romp Cannibal Women of Mars with songs by Belle and Mick Cooke which will run through July.

Before that is Mayfesto which runs for three weeks over May with a theme of identity. In addition to readings and discussions, shows include Over the Wire about the 1974 Long Kesh riots, psychological thriller Bandages and the Gilded Balloon’s 2012 Festival hit The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs.

Scottish Youth Theatre present Liz Lochhead’s Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off; students of the Royal Conservatoire celebrate the work of Howard Barker with productions Victory: Choices in Reaction and The Possibilities whilst BA Acting and Musical Theatre students present new works in On the Verge.

The Christmas shows have also been announced. Aganeza Scrooge writer, Johnny McKnight, returns with promises of a riot of flatulence gags in Peter Panto and the Incredible Stinkerbell while younger audiences can enjoy a seasonal story of Flora getting her letter to Santa, Remember December.

A programme of events also runs in the Vic Bar and exhibitions in the Long Gallery.
