Katie Birtill is to play Charity Hope Valentine at Ipswich's New Wolsey Theatre in September.

This new actor-musician production of the of the hit musical Sweet Charity, which features classics "Big Spender" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now", will be directed by the venue's artistic director, Peter Rowe.

Birtill's theatre credits include The Boy who fell into a Book, Priscilla, Dreamboats and Petticoats and A Little Night Music. She also has numerous vocal credits.

Sweet Charity runs from 3 to 26 September at New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.
