The producers of much loved children's musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are selling props from the show which toured the UK and Ireland staring Jason Manford, Lee Mead, Martin Kemp, Phill Jupitus, Shaun Williamson, Michelle Collins and Claire Sweeney over the period of its 2015–2017.

Foremost amongst the 100 plus items being offered at auction is the car itself, complete with lifting apparatus, which has guide price of £6,000 to £9,000, a bargain given the £175,000 building costs.

Also for sale are the Child Catcher’s Bike, various inventions of Caractacus Potts such as a remote-controlled family dog, Grandpa’s shed, Baron Bomburst’s car and Truly Scrumptious's 1920s motorcycle.

The car and props have been stored since the end of the tour but with no plans to restage the musical, they are being disposed of. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang auction will take place in Staffordshire on 21 June.
