Emerging theatre company The Canting Crew is staging Kazantzakis's play Comedy for one evening at the end of this month.
Niko Kazantzakis, who is better known for two novels both made into films, Zorba the Greek and The Last Temptation of Christ, wrote Comedy in 1909.
His second work, this critique of Christian salvation starts an exploration into the existential issues that were to echo throughout his later writing.
The performance of the play will be followed by a round table discussion by academics and the play’s director Stephen Oswald.
