Leicester's Curve theatre has extended the streamed run of The Color Purple – at Home because of audience demand and it will now be available until Tuesday 16 March.

Produced in association with Birmingham Hippodrome, the musical has been watched by more than 15,000 people.

Curve's chief executive Chris Stafford and artistic director Nikolai Foster said, “while we can’t wait to welcome audiences back to Curve, we're thrilled they have more chances to enjoy our production of The Color Purple—at Home.

“We're especially proud that this magnificent production has been embraced by young people and in schools where we've been able to offer workshops, learning materials and talkback events with the incredible writers of the musical.”

Audiences have enjoyed Marsha Norman's script along with songs by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray which “celebrate life, love and the strength to stand up for who you are and what you believe in”.

Tickets, which cost £20 per household, are available from the Curve web site.
