Australian singer and actress Caroline O’Connor, who played Rose in Gypsy earlier this year, will return to Leicester’s Curve in the Christmas musical production Hello Dolly!.
She will play Dolly Levi in the “big, bold and brassy Broadway musical extravaganza of a show”.
She said, “I had the time of my life in Gypsy and I’m thrilled to be returning to Curve at Christmas.
“Hello Dolly! is such a classic Broadway musical with a brilliantly uplifting score. Dolly is a great, mischievous character which I’ve never played before.
“The audience at Curve were so warm and I felt at home in Leicester. I can’t wait to start rehearsals with Paul (Kerryson, Curve’s artistic director) and the company.”
The team behind Gypsy and The King and I which toured the UK after starting at Curve will bring to life Hello Dolly!: Kerryson directs while Sara Perks is the designer and David Needham looks after choreography.
Full casting for Hello Dolly!, which will run from 30 November until 12 January, will be announced later.
