Damn Yankees in London

Broadway show Damn Yankees comes to the London fringe next month.

The Tony Award winning musical is based on Faustian novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop in which middle-aged baseball fan Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil in order to help his favourite baseball team beat the New York Yankees.

Damn Yankees has a book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop, and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross.

Abbott, Adler and Ross also provided the book (with Richard Blissell), and the music and lyrics to The Pajama Game, a big hit at the Chichester Festival Theatre, now transferring to London's West End for a limited season.

Damm Yankees plays Brockley Jack Studio Theatre from 1 to 12 April.
