New Artistic Director Emma Gladstone unveils her first Dance Umbrella festival 14-31 October with a programme of international events.

Bringing together a diverse programme of work, Dance Umbrella 2014 intends to celebrate 21st century choreography in all its forms in a series of performances across fourteen venues in sixteen days. The Festival will also present its first ever shows for babies.

Festival highlights will include Le Patin Libre, a Canadian collective reinventing ice skating at Alexandra Palace, flamenco dancer Rocío Molina at the Barbican, Ivan Blackstock's Harlem-set hip hop show at the Young Vic, Beijing-based choreographer Tao Ye with TAO Dance Theatre to Sadler’s Wells, Jérôme Bel at The Shaw Theatre and La Veronal at the Southbank Centre.

Dance Umbrella will also be involved in year-round creative digital projects and is inviting guest editors to contribute longer form articles online. The Festival has recently launched the Moving London Commission Fund and set up the Re-Search Programme that runs throughout the year.
