Digital Culture Awards

New awards are to showcase technology in culture following the explosion of digital output in the arts and cultural sectors as a result of the pandemic.

Any England-based not-for-profit arts and culture organisations whose projects demonstrate innovation in their use of digital technologies are eligible to apply.

The panels of judges—made up of Tom Burton (BBC Studios), Hilary Carty (Clore Leadership), Rishi Coupland (BFI), Liam Darbon (Tate), Katz Kiely (Beep), Adam Koszary (The Audience Agency), Andrew Miller MBE (broadcaster and disability champion), and Derek Richards (Roundhouse)—will assess entries across the eight award categories:

  • Digital Storytelling (People’s Choice)
  • Digital Inclusion (People’s Choice)
  • Being Social
  • Content Creation and Distribution
  • Income Generation
  • Data Driven
  • Digital Trailblazer (Organisation)
  • Emerging Digital Leader (Individual)

Winning practitioners will receive practical in-kind support from tech companies, publicity and a trophy.

The Digital Culture Awards are presented by the Arts Council and the Digital Culture Network.

Entries for the Digital Culture Awards close on 8 November, the shortlist for the public vote in the two applicable categories will be revealed in December and all the winners are to be announced at a virtual event on 20 January.
