Downing Street hosts celebration of British Theatre

Theatre's best are feted by No. 11 - Mark Rubinstein, President of the Society of London Theatre and Frances Osborne

The Chancellor’s wife, Frances Osborne, and Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, Ed Vaizey MP, hosted a reception at Downing Street recognising individuals from the performing arts, government and business who have contributed to the ongoing success of British theatre.

High profile guests at the event which took place at the end of November included Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Cameron Mackintosh as well as Olivier Award winners, Theatre Awards UK (TMA) winners and other across the disciplines.

The reception was organised by the Society of London Theatre and Theatrical Management Association.
