Sleeping Beauty

English National Ballet celebrates Tamara Rojo’s first season as Artistic Director with a production of The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty at the Coliseum this Christmas from 12 December 2012 to 19 January 2013.

This production of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Wayne Eagling, received its world première in 2010 and is English National Ballet’s 11th production of The Nutcracker since its founding year of 1950. The company has established the tradition of performing The Nutcracker every single Christmas since then.

The production will be at Southampton Mayflower from 22 to 25 November and London Coliseum from 12 December 2012 to 5 January 2013.

The Sleeping Beauty, choreographed by Kenneth MacMillan with costumes by Georjiadis, will arrive at the London Coliseum after the autumn tour. ENB revived this production in 2005 and performed it at the London Coliseum and on tour again in 2008.

The production will tour the UK from 17 October to 1 December before its performances at the Coliseum from 9 to 19 January 2013. There is a family friendly performance, where under-5s are welcome, on 15 January.

Alongside the performances, there is a series of events that delve deeper into the magical worlds of The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, including on-stage ballet workshops, choreographic masterclasses and workshops for the whole family.
