The productions at the centre of the 2016 programme of English Touring Theatre were announced this week.
In a co-production with York Theatre Royal, the company will embark on the first large-scale stage production of Brideshead Revisited in April.
Adapted by Bryony Lavery from Evelyn Waugh’s classic novel, this production will be directed by York Theatre Royal artistic director Damian Cruden and the composer is Christopher Madin.
Peter Whelan's The Herbal Bed will tour for the first time. For this co-production with Royal and Derngate, Northampton and Rose Theatre Kingston, the director is James Dacre and the composer is Valgeir Sigurðsson.
The cast is made up of Philip Correia, Patrick Driver, Jonathan Guy Lewis, Emma Lowndes, Michael Mears, Charlotte Wakefield and Matt Whitchurch.
Launching the Regional Touring Network, a group of nine regional venues producing touring work for mid-scale venues, Paul Miller will direct Terence Rattigan’s French Without Tears.
