Tyrone Huggins, Simran Kular, Livvi Parsons and Naomi Coleman will appear in BOLDtext Playwrights’ show Uncommon Wealth at Birmingham Rep.

BOLDtext Playwrights is a collective of eight professional writers from the West Midlands who came together in 2013 to create new work that celebrates and reflects the region. Uncommon Wealth is four new, short plays by Liz John, Helen Kelly, Vanessa Oakes and Tim Stimpson which “ask hard questions about the increasingly unequal society we live in”.

Huggins has more than 90 stage productions to his credit including Mademoiselle F by BOLDtext playwright Vanessa Oakes at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry in 2023 and his own show The Honey Man which had a run at Exeter Northcott Theatre in 2021.

Kular performed in BOLDtext's Power of Invention in 2021 at Soho House, Birmingham while Parsons, a graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, joins the company for the first time. Coleman was appointed associate director at Artrix in Bromsgrove in 2018 and in 2020 was commissioned to adapt Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Shropshire's Soulton Hall.

Uncommon Wealth will be at Birmingham Rep on Wednesday 24 January.
