Nuffield Theatre will host the inaugural Fulcrum Southampton festival in March

Nuffield Theatre will host the inaugural Fulcrum Southampton festival in March.

Themes for the festival include health inequalities in Southampton, the ageing process and the commercialisation of medicine .

Covering three days, the programme comprises performances, debates and panel discussions between cultural figures, social commentators and world class scientists.

Live performance events include How to be Immortal by The Penny Dreadfuls, the story of Henrietta Lacks, a woman who died in 1951 but whose cells are still alive, Going Dark by Sound&Fury, an immersing one man show set to reawaken our wonder at the universe, and work in progress In Theatre created by Ella Hickson and Ben Duke.

Fulcrum Southampton runs from 21 to 23 March.
