An online charity concert performance of Stephen Schwartz’s Godspell will be available to stream for three days in August, to mark 50 years of the hit musical.

Ruthie Henshall and Darren Day, who will reprise their roles from the 1993 studio recording, will be joined by Sam Tutty, Ria Jones and Jenna Russell.

Other performers inlcude Jodie Steele, Danyl Johnson, Natalie Green, Jenny Fitzpatrick, Sally Ann Triplett, John Barr, Gerard McCarthy, Shekinah McFarlane, Lucy Williamson, Alison Jiear, Jerome Bell, Ronald Brian and an ensemble from Italia Conti.

The performances will be filmed individually and edited digitally with visual animations.

Funds raised from the concert event will support Hope Mill Theatre (A Factory of Creativity CIO), Acting For Others, and National AIDS Trust.

Michael Strassen directs, the musical director is George Carter, sound design is by Cyrus Brandon and video design and editing is by Ben Hewis. The producers are Thomas Hopkins & Michael Quinn for Ginger Quiff Media in association with the Hope Mill Theatre.

The Godspell 50th anniversary concert is available for streaming from 27 to 29 August. The cost is £15.
