Graeae’s BEYOND is open for applications

Award-winning theatre company Graeae, which promotes the work of artists who are Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent, is inviting applications for its third BEYOND programme.

The programme will see participating artists offered support, advice, training and mentoring personalised to their practice in order to reach their creative potential, and with the longer term aim of Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists contributing fully to new and emerging work across the regions.

Graeae artistic director Jenny Sealey said, “BEYOND is Back.

“Bespoke and brilliant.

“Bringing together artists and venues together, Cast, Derby Theatre, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, Hull Truck Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse Octagon Bolton and Shakespeare North Playhouse will ensure that Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artist are at the heart of everything and not on the sidelines.”

The 18-month scheme is open to new and established artists at all stages of career development and runs from September 2023 to March 2025.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age working as a performer, writer, director, producer, designer or technician to create live performance whether online or in person. There are places for 20 participants.

Final date for submitting an expression of interest form is 26 June.
