Guildford Shakespeare Company has announced its 10th Open Air Season, featuring a new adaptation and venues old and new.

A brand new adaptation of Kenneth Graham's The Wind in the Willows is being staged in the gardens and woodlands of Watts Gallery in Compton, following the company's success with its first in-house adaption last autumn of The Canterbury Tales.

This promenade production will take audiences on Mole's journey along the River Bank into The Wild Wood and along Toad's cherished Open Road. It is directed by the team behind last year's Twelfth Night and 2013's As You Like It, and GSC's own Matt Pinches will play the part of Toad.

In July, the company returns to the grounds of Braboeuf Manor and The University of Law on Portsmouth Road for Shakespeare's comedy The Taming of the Shrew. Charlotte Conquest returns to GSC to direct, having also directed the same play in 2009 in Guildford's Castle Gardens.

This time the play will be re-located to the 1950s and sees GSC's Sarah Gobran reprise the title role of Katerina. Full casting for both plays will be announced in May.
