Hamilton to have 10-week season in Birmingham

Olivier, Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Hamilton is to play a 10-week season at Birmingham Hippodrome in 2024.

A new company for the UK and Ireland tour is being assembled from more than 3,000 hopeful artists.

The musical opened at the restored Victoria Palace Theatre in London in December 2017 where it continues until 2 March 2024.

Hamilton is the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton. It features a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway.

Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s biography. It has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.

The musical also has scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and hair and wig design by Charles G LaPointe.

It will run at Birmingham Hippodrome from Tuesday 25 June until Saturday 31 August 2024.
