Hofesh Shechter Company presents a UK tour of In Good Company 2014—new choreography by five company dancers.

The bi-annual project, now in its third year, is a major part of the company’s commitment to its dancers, giving them an opportunity to develop creative ideas, supporting them to commission live music, spoken text and film from their own creative collaborators.

Hofesh Shechter Company’s choreographic project has already presented choreographers of note with previous participants, such as James Finnemore, now tipped as a choreographer to watch by critics.

For 2014, six company dancers have created short pieces, each between ten and fifteen minutes long. New to In Good Company are Frederic Despierre, Bruno Karim Guillore and Kim Kohlmann, whilst Sam Coren and Maeva Berthelot create their second works and Sita Ostheimer her third.

The programme consists of: Bruno Guillore’s Pandemonium, a duet performed by Hannah Shepherd and Philip Hulford; Frédéric Despierre’s What if dog was one of us?, a solo for Diogo Sousa with text written by former company dancer, Chris Evans; Kim Kohlmann’s duet for herself and Aimée Lagrange; Doppel, a film by Maëve Berthelot, created on location in Mexico with filmmaker Leila Zin; Sam Coren’s Gully, a group work, designed by Kasper Hansen; and Sita Ostheimer’s Dissimilar Foxes set to a new score by Adrien Casalis, performed live by Casalis and Ostheimer herself.

The UK tour opens at Dance City Newcastle on 10 May, moves to Brighton Festival 14 May (Hofesh Shechter Company is resident company at Brighton Dome), Jerwood DanceHouse Ipswich 16 May and The Place London on 6 and 7 June.
