Panto Day

The "I love #panto because..." campaign kicks off this year's Panto Day celebrations of all things Panto.

Last year saw over 1.5 million Twitter users join the merriment and now, in its third year, Panto Day is inviting lovers of Panto to create a video explaining what it is they love about it.

The "I love #panto because..." campaign will see short videos being uploaded on YouTube, tweeted and posted on Facebook.

Anyone can submit their video, not just Panto practitioners; to be included in the Panto Day YouTube channel play list videos should be titled “I love #panto because…” / “We love #panto because…” and be uploaded to YouTube before Panto Day, 7 December.

Panto Day co-ordinator Simon Sladen said, "We are really looking forward to finding out exactly what it is that people love about this great British art form.

"Will it be the Dame and her outlandish frocks? Shouting ’It’s Behind You!’ during the Ghost Gag? Or participating in a centuries old tradition with friends and family?

"Pantomime has always embraced the latest technology and, in our third year, it seems only fitting we should embrace YouTube to share the joys of pantomime with the world.”

For uploading your video use the Panto Day YouTube channel and Facebook page.
